Mexico is rich in traditions, which are part of its culture. All of them are an important part of our great worth as an Independent Nation.Among the very numerous traditions that abound throughout the year. Some have a notorious quality that we celebrate for the whole month. One of the traditions In Mexico is a special annual celebration called "kid's Day",celebrated on April 30, in Spanish it is known as "El Dia del Nino".
On that special day, preschool, elementary school teachers, and parents are in charge of planning and organizing a huge celebration for small people. Usually each school prepares its own festival; then all of them participate in a parade through the main streets of the city. All of the schools make use of a great amount of resources to celebrate kid's day.Parties and parades are organized where kids dress up all kinds of costumes, and share a school day with their parents or tutors.
The festivity also includes music, dance, contests, games, raffles, gifts, exhibits, a rally, and some of schools organize a picnic. Some groups of mimes among the children also participate. There is no admission fee for shows; candy and balloons are handed out every where by independent magicians and clowns. Teachers and parents watch the kids; this event is to have a fun day and to make every kid feel special and also to encourage the rights that they have as kids.
Kid's Day is not just to spend a very pleasant time with our children, also it is to promote to raise awareness about their rights to ensure their safety. We really enjoy preparing the activities for that special day. we are working to keep our traditions even though we are now living in the USA.
